Yesterday we decided to go to to Heritage Park (This is the Place Monument). We had only been a couple of times, and thought that it would be a great way to remember our pioneer Ancestors. It was so much fun, we toured the homes there and the kids had the opportunity to see how the the pioneers lived. It really makes you appreciate the sacrifices that they made for us to live how we live now! They had hands on activities for the kids to participate in, Ashlee got to wash a towel the old fashioned way, and hang it on the clothes line, We went on a wagon ride. Ashlee bought some marbles with her own money, and while getting on the wagon the bag ripped and marbles went everywhere, so everyone went scrambling to save them, even complete strangers.(whew!). We went to a flag raising ceremony, where some children sang"pioneer children" it was so sweet, Brigham Young was also there to address the people:)! We had a very fun, fun day, everyone had a very good time. We are so grateful for those that came before us, and for this great valley we are able to live in!!

a "Picnic in the Park"!

Today, Paula and I Decided to take Our kids to the park for a picnic. Our kids just love spending time together, The Olsen's are Ashlee's Very Favorite, they get along so well. They don't see each other as often as they would like to , but when they do, it's one big party! We had a lot of fun eating Subway sandwiches, and playing at Evergreen park. When it was time for the Olsen's to go home, Ashlee was very disappointed. We hope they come over again really soon!!

Every Summer, the Hulet's have a Party, sort of a reunion, but not really! We have dinner, and all the grandkids have fun playing and the grown ups visit. We don't see each other all that much so we have a lot to catch up on. Ashlee's Favorite cousins,Katelyn and Brittney, from Arizona come and stay with Grandma & Grandpa Hulet. It is quite convenient that they live just over the fence, she has tons of fun playing with them, they go swimming, and have sleepovers.

My Night Off!

The one thing I hate more than anything is "fixing dinner" when 5:00 rolls around I am at a loss of what to make for dinner. I am usually the one who gets stuck with dinner, well, since it is my job:). To my surprise, last night James and his girlfriend,Sarah offered to make dinner for me. They made spaghetti. I guess James does know how to cook after all(he will be making his own grilled cheese from now on),because it was really good! Anyway, last night I had a night off!! Thanks Guys!!

A Trip Down Memory Lane!!

So I got this idea from a friend of mine, and I thought it would be fun to try!
It's a tag that gets everyone involved. I hope you'll play along.
I'm Pretty brave to do this, but, oh well, here goes!

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Camping Fun!

We had the opportunity to go camping for the 4th of July weekend. Our kids absolutely love camping, and spending time with their cousins. It is so funny, the dirtier the kids get the funner they seem to be having. It is so fun to get away from all the pressures from home, and just be in the beautiful mountains! We went on ATV rides, played horseshoes, volleyball, badminton, and went shooting! We also just spent alot of time just sitting around eating snacks, and visiting. When we go camping,we never get to bed before midnight,we sit by the fire roasting marshmallows and just enjoying the great outdoors. James, Jake and Ashlee sleep out under the stars, they are so beautiful up there ,they love to find all the consolations. While we were there James made a new friend, his name is Keaton! It was so cute to see him warm up to James like he did. James was so cute with him and had a good time with Keaton as well. We all had a really good time, and were grateful for the chance we had to spend some time with our family!!

Go Dodgers

Last weekend Don and the boys went to a Dodgers game. They went last year, and had so much fun, they decided to go again this year. Everything went pretty smoothly, and they had a lot of fun eating out and spending time with each other. They even went to the Los Angeles Temple grounds. On Saturday, when I called the Airline to check them in we discovered that Don's flight left two hours after the boys, this is problematic since the boys are both minors, and need supervision. After much work and fast talking, they flew home together. I was so glad they had a good time!!

Ashlee's Friend

Two of Ashlee's favorite things are (1)Coloring or drawing pictures,and(2)Jesus,hymns,and "the Friend" No,not the little girl across the the street, friend, but the monthly church magazine, friend. This is a picture that she drew when she was five years old. I thought it was just the cutest picture. She drew it so we could send it to the friend, but we never got around to it. Too Bad, because they probably would have published it!!
